Fault Diagnosis & Circuit Reading

Learn systematic troubleshooting methodologies — from visual inspection to advanced circuit tracing using schematics and diagnostic tools.

Lesson 2.1: Reading laptop schematics and boardview files
Lesson 2.2: Power sequence analysis — tracing VCC rails
Lesson 2.3: No-power, no-display, no-boot fault trees

SMD Soldering & Component Replacement

Hands-on soldering training from basic through-hole work to advanced BGA reballing and hot-air rework techniques.

Lesson 3.1: Soldering iron technique — tin, drag, hot-air
Lesson 3.2: Replacing capacitors, MOSFETs, ICs on motherboards
Lesson 3.3: BGA reballing — GPU, RAM, Southbridge chips
Lesson 3.4: Quality inspection with magnification tools

Reball a dead GPU chip and restore a non-booting laptop — verified working before grading.

BIOS / Firmware & Software Recovery

Recover corrupted or password-locked systems. Flash BIOS chips, bypass EC controllers, and handle OS-level recovery scenarios.

FAQs

Do I need any prior electronics knowledge?
No prior knowledge is required. Module 1 starts from absolute basics — hardware identification, tool usage, and safety protocols. Many of our most successful graduates had zero electronics background when they enrolled.
What tools and materials are provided?
All tools are available in the lab during class and Saturday sessions. Your fee includes a personal toolkit: soldering iron, tweezers, spudger set, and multimeter. Donor laptops and components for practice are provided by GURU at no extra cost.
Is the certificate recognized by employers?
Yes. Our program is CTEVT-affiliated, which is the government body that recognizes vocational qualifications in Nepal. The certificate is accepted by employers across Nepal and is required for many government IT technician positions.
Can I take classes in the evening or on weekends only?
We offer a morning batch (7–9 AM), a daytime batch (10 AM–12 PM), and an evening batch (5–7 PM). Saturday full-day lab sessions are mandatory for all batches. Please contact us to check current availability.
What happens if I miss classes?
All theory lectures are recorded and shared with enrolled students on our LMS. Practical sessions must be attended in person, but makeup lab sessions are available on Sundays for genuine absences. Up to 20% absence is allowed without penalty.
Does GURU help with job placement after completion?
Yes. GURU's dedicated placement cell actively connects graduates with partner companies including IT service centers, banks, schools, and tech startups. We also support business setup for students who want to become entrepreneurs.
